. It’s been the baby news we’ve all eagerly been waiting for, Australia’s sweetheart and Wildlife Warrior Bindi Irwin and her husband, Chandler Powell have finally welcomed their baby girl, just yesterday!
After a whirlwind 2020, Australia Zoo’s close-knit family is expanding by one with the arrival of this sweet little girl – no stork required!
Crikey, she’s here!
We’ve known for a while that the two wildlife conservationists were expecting a little girl, with Bindi announcing her pregnancy news in August 2020, just months after her COVID-rushed wedding to long-time love Chandler Powell in March of the same year.
The delightful details
Arriving at 5:52PM yesterday, Thursday March 25, 2021, this adorable little lady weighed in at 7lb 7oz (3374g) and is just perfect in every way.
What’s in a name?
The name the new parents settled on is perfect for this sweet munchkin. Please meet Grace Warrior Irwin Powell – and she’s as cute as a button.
Bindi had previously said that she and Chandler were waiting to meet this sweet little girl before definitely deciding on a name and they’d been looking through family history on both Bindi and Chandler’s side of the family for name inspiration.
“We are waiting to meet her before we decide on a name. We want to hold her and make sure the name that we choose fits her perfectly.”
“Once she arrives I think we’ll know exactly what to name her.”
And doesn’t her name suit her just perfectly? Nice one, mum and dad!
A pregnancy shared with the world, and now a baby to watch grow!
Bindi and Chandler have been an absolute delight to watch in their excitement of becoming parents – a joy that they’ve readily shared with fans, friends and family all over the world on their social media platforms.
We look forward to spotting Bindi out and about with a pram at Australia Zoo. Who’s willing to bet this wee little one already has a khaki onesie ready and waiting?
There’s no doubt that this sweet little girl will be adored by not only her extended family but by all Australians. After all, we feel as though we’ve watched Bindi and her younger brother Robert grow up before our very eyes and now it’s time for the next generation and Bindi’s next exciting chapter – and adventure – as being a mum. *Cue the tears*
We’re sending the Irwin and Powell families the HUGEST of congratulations and love upon the arrival of their baby girl. May your newborn bubble be filled with tender, special moments and a zoo full of love.
