Cadbury Launches a Creme Egg Beer. Would You Try It?

I don’t know about you, but I love a cold beer. Refreshing, frothy, chocolatey? Um, what? Chocolately? That’s right – the bevy traditionally made of hops has gone hopping mad in the lead-up to Easter.

And we have Cadbury to thank/blame.

Chocolate factory giants Cadbury recently shared a treat with the world – news that they would be launching a Golden Goo-Beer Lee Creme Stout. Not only is it a mouthful to say, but to taste as well – after all, this is chocolate beer, peeps.

Beer and chocolate. A match made in flavour heaven? Source: Goose Island

It’s all part of their 50th birthday celebrations – I mean what better way to celebrate a milestone than with beer? And chocolate?

A pint of creme egg, thanks

It’s made in America, at the US brewers Goose Island to be exact. The brew is a blend of barley, oats, wheat, milk sugar, vanilla bean and cacao nibs.

The beer contains 4.5% alcohol and comes in a two-pack. It’s unknown how many calories per serve but I’m going to go out on a limb here and say a whole flippin’ lot!

Goose Island’s Master Brewer, Andrew Walton said at the time of the launch:

We wanted to make sure that for whoever tried this beer, it would be unique and delicious. The tasty flavours of the stout complement the iconic Cadbury Creme Egg; we wanted to big up the chocolate and creaminess of the beer while keeping it super drinkable.”

Cadbury beer, the craft beer for chocolate lovers

The limited-edition beer launched online earlier this week and sold out within an hour. It’s meant to be back in stock again this week but it’s still not known if Cadbury beer will be heading to Australian bottle-Os. If so, would you buy it?

This isn’t the first interesting beer flavour we’ve shared. You may recall Vagina Beer, a Polish VB, literally infused with lactic acid from vaginas.

I’ll take the Cadbury beer over vagina beer any day, thanks. What about you?
