BIG NEWS: Big W Is Giving Away Wiggles Books

It’s a Fruit Salad of reading excitement, ladies and gents! Big W and The Wiggles have joined forces to produce a series of eight educational books for toddlers and preschoolers. Awesome, right? What’s even better is that they are giving them away for FREE.

It’s all part of Big W’s Free Books for Kids Program. So far the chain store has given away more than nine million books since it launched one year ago, in February 2019.

Wiggle and read

The Wiggles series will be particularly popular with parents of toddlers and preschoolers.

“Our Here to Help series is all about showing children important life lessons in an engaging way,” Anthony Field (the Blue Wiggle) says.

“When other family members become involved or encourage the reading experience it can lead to a very positive, worthwhile, bonding moment. We’re proud to partner with Big W on this program, providing children with access to books and supporting Aussie families.”

What are the stories about?

The first book in the series The Wiggles: Here to Help – Splish, splash, safety! aims to educate children about staying safe in and around the water.

Further books will cover safety at home and in the car; understanding feelings and being thoughtful, having fun, the importance of eating a healthy diet, and why we need to wash our hands. We could use that last one in our house for tweens!

How to get your free Wiggles books

Easy. Head to Big W. You can collect each of the eight books released weekly, starting Thursday, 30 January with no purchase necessary (available nationally while stocks last).

Don’t live near Big W? Don’t worry, you can still get free Wiggles books.

The Wiggles Here to Help books will be available on BIG W’s YouTube channel, read by The Wiggles each week. Big W is also giving away 40,000 to Good360 Australia, which will be distributed to disadvantaged families with young children at a time that will provide some relief from the devastation caused by the bushfires this summer.

“We want all children and parents to know the joy of reading together and reap the benefits of this precious time with one another,” Meredith Drake, BIG W’s Category Manager for Books, says.

We all know how important it is to encourage reading with our kiddies from a young age and we love the idea of having The Wiggles on board! You can visit the Free Books for Kids for more information.
