After 10 Boys, Couple Welcome Baby #11…And It’s a Girl!

Alexis Brett is no stranger to the kid-game; she and hubby, David, have 10 of them.

But the Scottish mum is now entering unfamiliar territory after the birth of her first daughter. That’s right – after giving birth to 10 boys, this happy mumma finally got her little girl!

Boy mums know the unwavering love, the unpredictable adventures and the uncontrollable smells that come with raising boys. Now, could you imagine multiplying the craziness by 10??

Alexis and David certainly can. They have 10 amazing boys living under their roof, ranging from two-years-old to 17-years-old. There are three teen boys (Campbell, 17, Harrison, 16 and Corey, 14), two tween boys (Lachlan, 11 and Brodie, nine), three school-aged boys (Brahn, eight, Hunter, six and Mack, five) and two toddler boys (Blake, three and Rothagaidh, two).

Wowsers. That’s A LOT of boys. And a lot of dirty socks!

Lucky Number 11

Although Alexis was adamant that after Rothagaidh her baby-making days were over, it was not to be. The couple was surprised, yet overjoyed when they fell pregnant again last Christmas and Alexis simply assumed it would be another boy.

But, it wasn’t! The couple went for a gender test and discovered that, for the first time, she was carrying a girl.

“I always joked I wouldn’t have a clue what to do with a girl… that’s all changed,” Alexis told The Mirror. “We’re having a lot of fun buying pink things for the first time.”

On August 27th the couple welcomed a baby girl, Cameron, and the Mum to 10 Boys (as she’s known on Facebook) became the Mum to 10 Boys + One Very Special Girl.

More Laundry, More Love

Alexis, 39, is the first woman in Britain to give birth to 10 boys in a row. Although the laundry never ends – and neither do the snide comments from strangers – Alexis wouldn’t have it any other way.

“All my sons are special to me – if another boy had been on the way it wouldn’t have bothered me,” Alexis told The Mirror.

“We’re asked a lot if we had so many children because we were hoping for that elusive girl. I can honestly answer ‘no’. Cameron wasn’t planned, but I was happy all the same.

I’d never planned to have a large family, but now I do, I love it.”

Vacuums Seven Times a Day

Alexis admits that, although their five-bedroom home is littered with boy stuff, she can’t stand mess. She starts the day at 5.30am, does 49 loads of laundry a week and vaccuums seven times a day! She is also a part-time fitness instructor and plans to return to work in a few weeks

“It’s not easy with so many boys running around, but I like everything neat and tidy. I can’t stand mess.”

Luckily she has a tribe of men to help her out.

Big Brother Protection (x 10)

Since Cameron’s arrival last month, the boys have been on their very best behaviour, helping out and doting on their little sister. What a lucky little girl getting cuddles and attention from so many handsome men (and one very grateful mummy!).

Although the family is loving these first weeks with baby Cameron, Alexis insists this will be the final newborn the family will welcome to the household.

“We’re definitely stopping now,’” laughs Alexis. “There’ll be no more. I said that last time, but this time I absolutely mean it. I love my family as it is now.”

While Alexis got her little girl, this wasn’t the case for this family, who, after 13 boys, had another son.. and you won’t believe what they named him!
