Having a Baby in October? 10 Cool Things About October Babies

Good news, heavily pregnant mummas! Your pregnancy days are coming to an end and October is a great month to say hello to your new baby.

Babies born in October have heaps of great characteristics and the month of October is a lovely month to give birth and celebrate birthdays every year.

Below are just a few of the things to look forward to when bringing home your October baby.

1. Sporty stars

A 2015 study showed that kids born in October out-performed those born in any other month when it comes to their athletic abilities. This includes tests in strength, stamina and cardiovascular fitness.

2. Presidental power

Although it will require a move overseas and a change of citizenship, your October baby has a slighter greater chance of becoming President. More American presidents have celebrated October birthdays than any other month.

Even if becoming Pres isn’t in your baby’s future, October babies are also known for being very business-minded and determined.

3. Little peacekeepers

Another great quality of October-born babies is their peacekeeping personalities. Ruled by Venus, they create harmony and are known as the “peacemakers on the playground.”

Their ability to get along with others will work in their favour at home, at school and everywhere in between.

4. 100 club

Another cool fact about babies born in October is that they are actually predicted to live longer than people born in any other month. According to a 2011 study of over 1,500 centenarians (or people that live to be 100), most were born in October.

5. Lucky ducks

Those born in the month of October are said to have Lady Luck on their side and tend to get what they want, when they want it. Part of it comes down to luck and the other part is due to their powers of persuasion.

6.  Healthy hearts and minds

October babies are known to have excellent cardiovascular health and have the least risk of suicide, as well as a lowered risk of depression, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

7. Spring bliss

October is also an ideal month to be born weather-wise. It’s not too hot, not too cold and the craziness of Christmas is still a few weeks away.

Plus, schools are in session throughout the month of October (or the majority of it) meaning it’s easy to organise a birthday party without wondering if any kids will show up or if they’ve gone away for school holidays.

8. Pumpkin power

And, of course, if you happen to love Halloween, then you will have the perfect prop for trick-or-treating or general Halloween photo op sweetness. Itty bitty baby pumpkins? Irresistible!

9. Naming delights

If you are looking for a springy name that commemorates your little one’s birth, there are plenty of great picks – Rowan is the tree associated with October, Opal is October’s gemstone and Maia is the goddess of spring.

10. A love of pretty things

Most babies born in October are Libras which is definitely one of the most powerful zodiac signs. Libras are known for their love of money, beauty and romance.

We predict you will receive plenty of “pretty flowers” handpicked by your little sweetheart!

To all the mums expecting a baby this month, good luck. We predict years and years of fun to come!
