You want to make sure that your baby is sleeping safe and sound and it’s not like baby monitors are a new thing either. However Oricom are changing the game with their latest addition, the Oricom Babysense2.

So, what makes this monitor so above-the-norm (aside from its super-sleek new appearance)?

It’s Australia’s first infant respiratory monitor also registered as a medical device.

So what does that mean? Let’s say you’re finding it a challenge to stop hovering over your sleeping baby. You’ve heard all about SIDS, and are somewhat concerned, and rest assured you’re not alone. But, spending all night standing over your baby and watching her breathe just won’t do. At some point you’ll wake her, and, let’s be realistic, at some point you’ll actually want to cuddle up in your own bed and maybe, just maybe, get some sleep! 😉

But, how can you ever get to sleep if you’re constantly worried about your baby? Cue the newly released Babysense2 – along with Oricom’s Secure 710 Digital Baby Monitor.

Oricom-Babysense-2The Babysense2 takes some of the worry out of baby’s sleep-time. It connects to sensor pads which fit under baby’s mattress meaning they’ll constantly monitor your little guy or girl’s breathing.  Meaning that:

  • If your baby’s breathing goes lower than 10 breaths per minute, an alarm goes off.
  • If the monitor doesn’t detect your baby’s breathing for more than 20 seconds, the alarm also goes off.

Not only does the unit monitor your baby’s breathing movements, but coupled with the Secure 710 lets you see exactly what she’s doing.

Oricom-Babysense2But wait, it gets better.

This digital video monitor allows for multiple camera connections. Yep! No more unplugging, plugging, unplugging, plugging – okay, you get the picture. You can even put a camera in each room of the house if you want to.

And, did we mention – you can see your baby in the dark. Well, obviously unless you plan on leaving the light on in the nursery 24/7, this is a great feature thanks to the black and white infrared (that’s the see-in-the-dark) feature.

Plus, this magnificent monitor also features:

  • Room temperature sensor
  • Adjustable night light
  • Plays five soothing lullabies.

If only it could change a nappy too, but let’s face it, that’s probably asking too much.

Oricom’s Managing Director Kevin McDonnell says,

“Our monitors not only employ state of the art technology but they are robust and instinctive to use.”

He goes on to add, “Our business is built to ensure that we can look after you and your needs long after you have purchased your Baby Monitor.”

oricom-canstar-awardAs if these monitors aren’t amazing enough, add on an award! And not just any award we might add! The highly sought after Canstar Blue Award, voted by more than 1,300 parents!

What is a Canstar Blue Award?

The Canstar Blue Award award rates baby products for quality and Oricom scored five star reviews in just about every area, including clarity of sound, image quality and value for the money.

Head of Canstar Blue, Megan Doyle noted, “For baby monitors, it’s all about fulfilling the promises, which means the sound and image quality need to be perfect. Given that baby monitors are something of a luxury item, parents simply want to feel like they’re getting value for money.”

Would be great for my son who’s soon to be a first time father

  2. The range would be fantastic for my 2 story house especially in 7 months!

  3. The peace of mind knowing an alarm will sound if baby stops breathing for more than 20 seconds or if there’s less than 10 breaths per minute
Means i get a little bit of sleep

I am just like any other paranoid parent even though this will be my third baby. I’d love the peace of mind this monitor would bring and it would be excellent to grow with my child as they get into the naughty cot climbing stage.

  6. Ashlea Malycha Reply

Honestly, I love everything about it! Most importantly the peace of mind that it would provide. The sensors for baby’s breathing is a stand out to me. With my first baby, going to check on him required trying to dodge squeaky floorboards to get to him without waking him. I definitely want a monitor with bub number 2! Being able to see him/her on the monitor and know that an alarm will sound if breathing stops is absolutely priceless.

  7. Neva Beaumont Reply

It’s hard to pin-point just one favorite feature of this amazing Oricom Babysense Monitor, but I suppose the peace of mind that the sensor pads provide would help me sleep at night and give me the confidence to let other people care for my bub (without fear of them not checking if she is breathing). I am majorly paranoid so this feature would give me so many more hours of sleep each day!

What’s not to love? Whether your sleeping cooking or busy doing something outside, this monitor senses every aspect of your baby allowing the freedom to pursue other events/situations.

  15. Apart from the obvious safety features I love that it has soothing lullabies. Music is an important part of our lives and it has a direct link to our memories. It’s how we hold onto the things we love, am, and never want to lose.

We all love sleep, let’s face it. Oricom Babysense 2 enables parents to get that vital extra few minutes sleep and takes so much worry away. This excited (first time) Nanna-to-be would be rapt to know my grandbaby is closely monitored.

  17. I love the lullabies, so that when you travel, the routine can still be the same! And who doesn’t want to be on TV 😉

  18. I love that you can see bub from where you are – such peace of mind!

  21. So many amazing features but i would have to say the breathing sensor. Having a baby with clubfoot born in 8 weeks would give me one less thing to think about and give me a piece of mind that my baby is fine.

  22. I love that I can be freed up for a minute to have a cup of tea

  23. That it really is like having eyes in the back of your head. The perfect parenting tool, peace of mind, less stress.

Sound and image quality is the top priority when it comes to baby monitors. To be able to know your child is safe in their room is what we all expect as parents.

  29. The sensor pad breathing monitor!! I’m so sleep deprived, I can’t go to bed without the stress and anxiety from waking up every quarter hour to check whether bub is still breathing (first-time mum paranoia, I guess!) … so this would be the biggest relief and peace of mind for me!

  30. Sensor breathing pad, I’ll have piece of mind and be able to sleep easy.

  31. Emma_Flanagan Reply

This is the ideal equipment for babies safety and parents piece of mum for little bubs.

It would be nice to have a monitor that can be in 2 rooms. My newborn sleeps in 2 rooms. At night in our room in the bassinet & it is too hot in there during the day so he goes in the cot in my other sons room as it is cooler. My current monitor currently sits on the floor between the two rooms! Also to be able to see my baby without sneeking in would be great.

  33. That it’s value for money with great clear image and sound quality.

  34. The peace of mind is foremost and I love the see-in-the-dark feature. 🙂

Love, love, love this product. Love the design, adjustable night light, the see in the dark feature, the lullabys and the peace of mind. My older daughter suffered seizures and it would have been great to have a product like this. With a new Bub due in 2 weeks this would give me peace of mind and more sleep!!!!

  39. Kendra Sanders Reply

After our daughter was born early and had breathing issues, i was unable to sleep when we got her home because i was too worried about her passing away until we got a snuza monitor. Now that she is a little bigger and moves a lot the snuza comes off during the night and therefore goes off. im still just as paranoid and not ready to not have no monitor for her. Apart from the monitor as a whole system, i like that it has the room temp on it too as im always worried if its too hot or cold and i like the idea of multiple cameras as she likes to be in her big brothers room but its hard to get stuff done as i have to be in there making sure he’s not picking on her or trying to pick her up!

  40. I love the security of knowing the monitor will let me know if my son stops breathing!

  41. Kate Slack Reply

The fact that you can see your baby clearly in the dark is a great feature as well as the room temp sensor i am always worried about my baby being too hot.

  44. Michelle Leach Reply

I like that you can check on Bub no matter where you are in the house just by adding extra cameras around the house but the best feature would have to be the See-in-the-Dark because not having to keep a light on all night will help but sleep peacefully.

  52. jody buhagiar Reply

This would be fantastic for my nieces first child. Security and well being upmaost on her mind.

  53. I couldn’t afford this luxury for my first child and kept having nightmares that she’s another victim of SIDS. It would be fantastic to have this monitor as a piece of mind for my new baby due in December.

  54. My dear children are 3 and 6; but we still need to keep them monitored audibly and visually due to ongoing health issues. Our current monitor is starting to fail and will need replacing. It would be a real blessing to win such a new Oricom monitor and make our life just a little easier at night.

  55. I think the picture and sounds quality is superb. Also it’s so discreet that bub doesn’t even know it’s there.

  57. I love how far baby monitors have come over the last 20 or 30 years! I’m really impressed with these modern units especially the under-mattress sensors and infrared camera that give new mums a little extra piece of mind 🙂

  58. Manda Hodshon Reply

Wow! Should we say it’s Rolls Royce of baby monitors?!

I’d love one of these. My youngest daughter has breathing issues along with extemely large tonsils/adenoids, severe allergies to pollen/grass/nuts/eggs (so much fun with Spring just arriving & her love for sneaking food) and constantly gets croup. If she is the slightest bit unwell she has to sleep next to me so I can make sure she doesn’t stop breathing.

We’ve already had a few ambulance rides to hospital due to her breathing stopping or her throat swelling from an allergic reaction. With this monitor, I reckon I might get more than 3hrs broken sleep a night! Lol

  59. This would be perfect to watch all the kiddies and have that peace of mind u can check on them anytime without disturbing them great brand and product would love this

As a new mum of a 5 month old I have been researching different safety monitors for when he goes into his own room (soon hopefully). The Oricom brand (especially the babysense2) had the most amount of positive feedback and recommendations. I couldn’t find any faults at any stage while researching. It really gives you peace of mind that if anything is to ever happen your child will be safe and you will know as soon as it happens, leaving you with a much deserved good night’s sleep (I hope)

  75. Sophie Miller Reply

There are a few baby monitors out there with the breathing and movement monitors which is a feature that I love but the Oricom baby monitor takes it to the next level by including a camera which would allow me to be at ease knowing that my little one is sleeping safe and sound without having to travel in and out of the room to double check on her and wake her up. Such a clever monitor!

  76. I’d love this for my daughter who is soon to be a 1st time mum

I work at a primary school with a lovely teacher (teaches 1st grade) who recently became a first time parent with his wife who is also a teacher. It was a long time coming but in August they has their treasure, a little boy at 3 pound 7 ounces. At home now being so tiny and first time parents I feel in a few months time this would give them some much needed peace of mind when bubs moves into his own room. They aren’t getting much sleep right now so hopefully this will help.

  78. One of the main concerns when having a little bubba is making sure they are breathing and moving as you would expect – which gives you the opportunity to have some much needed sounder sleep.

This camera would allow us to monitor him at any time at home, during both night and day, and being mobile, providing the option to move it to any room of the house. Having the ability to speak to him through the camera is incredibly beneficial, and allowing us to hear him no matter where we are through the application would be fabulous. Being able to calm him when hes upset, through the speaker, is a great option. I love the fact this is a small and mobile camera with great high definition clarity- no matter where we are, we can watch him through an easy to navigate app on the phone. This would provide us with incredible reassurance with our brave little boy.

This camera would allow us to monitor him at any time at home, during both night and day, and being mobile, providing the option to move it to any room of the house. I love the fact this is a small and mobile camera with great high definition clarity- and with infrared he can be monitored 24/7, easily and clearly. This would provide us with incredible reassurance with our brave little boy.

With a growing family, its hard to keep watch and be everywhere you watch them byt this awesome camera provides me with security and leave of mind for my growing family

  141. Watching and entertaining two kids I sometimes forget to check the third. I love the video so I wouldn’t have to go anywhere and I wouldn’t feel bad for forgetting to check.

I would appreciate the peace of mind it would offer….a sense of security knowing exactly that no matter where you are in your house your bub is still under your watch

I would love to have the camera set up in multiple rooms so i can ensure both my babies will be ok at all times.

I want to be able to snuggle with my husband again!! We have been co-sleeping with baby because I’m super paranoid that something might happen but this has meant that my husband quite often sleeps in the spare room. While we get the most sleep this way, I do miss snuggling! A device like this would certainly help with this!

  145. I love that you can attach multiple cameras for my growing family.

  146. Kate Mayfield Reply

With our first baby on the way, I am already panicking about how we will go at first time parents. This will give me the piece of mind, and will stop me from hovering over the baby while they sleep and go back to bed- which I am sure my husband will be very pleased about!

This baby monitor would take a lot of worry out of Mum’s life! Knowing we can hear baby all the time is very reassuring!

I also love the fact that it has a night light feature.

Im currently looking for a monitor and this just ticks all the boxes. There is nothing more important than the safety of a newborn baby and im sure this would put your mind at ease, especially at night when you sleep too

  151. acidburn02 Reply

This would help me with the worry that I have of not being the birth mother and therefore not having that “sense” to wake up or hear the baby if something is wrong

  152. I would love to win this for my son & his fiancée who are expecting their first baby very soon so as to give them peace of mind

  153. Alicia Cathrene Kimberley Reply

We need this as we have just moved my sons room to the other end of the house and this would be so handy!

  154. Samantha Cachia Reply

I love the piece of mind that this brings when caring for your baby while they are sleeping.
I also love the idea of keeping an eye on my older cheeky monkey who loves to snuggle with her 10wk old baby brother now he is in his own room.

I love that you can see bub at night without having to have a light turned on

  156. Ashley Beech Reply

I love knowing that I can sleep easy knowing if there are any issues an alarm will sound. I remember when my babies used to sleep through the night I’d wake up panicking. It’s also a great multi-tasker having a built in night light and various lullabies.

I’m deaf so having a baby monitor is a great reassurance! The ability to be connected to a few cameras is a huge bonus, so I don’ have to move individual camera whenever baby is in different part of the house.

  158. Karen Edwards Reply

Love that you can still see the baby at night without having to leave a night light on

  159. Leanne Pickles Reply

We’re getting ready to move bub into her own room and the camera will give me peace of mind, with that being said, I think Laura Higgins should win, I could never begin to imagine what it must be like not being able to hear my baby. I think Laura is more deserving of this prize.

  160. Lee Kennedy Reply

With number two arriving any day, it will be useful to hear/see the little one whilst wrestling the toddler!

Seeing and hearing my baby while im doing cooking and cleaning and knowing she is ok its most important thing to me!

  162. Nicole Woods Reply

I love the fact that you can connect multiple cameras, but even more than that I love that it has sensors to monitor Bubs’s breathing. That takes a lot of worry out of the equation during the night!

  163. Leah Taylor Reply

I’d love this for not only myself but for my husband, he’s in a wheelchair , this would make it a lot easier for him to watch baby without having to move around a lot to go back and forth to check on baby.

  164. Ben N Nicole Reply

love everything about this monitor from the camara to the alarm, would love to win it would give such piece of mind for hubby and myself.

  165. As a single mother (by choice) having a extra set of ‘eyes’ would be a massive help. It’ll give me that peace of mind when I shower or hanging out washing that I can still check on bubs!!

  166. Tess Howard Reply

I love that its new and modern and has some whiz bang features, but its not overwhelming technology. Us mums have enough to learn without taking on crazy new technology.

  167. New design and tech features makes monitoring baby just a little easier with piece of mind.

The temperature sensor, the light and the lullabies. Wow. I would be so happy using this product.

  171. What I love the most is that feeling of security you get knowing that you can clearly hear your baby if they are in the next room. This baby monitor is perfect for every parent who wants reliable and accurate technology!

I love how technology has come so far from when I had my first child 20yrs ago. This would put the whole house at ease for the last babies arrival.

This would give any mum great peace of mind. Knowing you can sit outside on a lovely day and totally monitor your baby would give all mums comfort

  174. It allows me to sleep well knowing that I have eyes on my babies all night long. And after a good night’s sleep I am a better mum and can deal with all things baby and toddler!

The Babysense2 monitor gives parents a more reliable monitor to give peace of mind.

  176. Well, it’s quite creepy to stand there and stare at someone all night. That only happens in horror flix.. The babysense2 allows you to watch without looking all Paranormal Activity chic.. That peace of mind is priceless.

What I love most about the Oricom Babysense2 Sensor & Video Monitor is that you can see your baby and monitor how they get themselves to sleep.

  178. I love that this Oricom device can be an extra set of eyes and ears for me and my wife.

  179. t gives parents an extra sense of security that you can see them when they are asleep and check on them without disturbing the baby. It will enable pares to get a bit more rest.

  180. With the weather warming love to get outside with my other kids with oricom that’s possible to hear baby wake..
