Baby

May is the Best Month to Have a Baby. Here’s Why!

Ahh, May. The month of Mother’s Day, Star Wars Day (May the Fourth), Naked Gardening Day and World Turtle Day. It’s also a wonderful month to have a baby. Babies born in May are lucky, happy, and successful.

And, no, I’m not just saying that because I happen to be a May baby. There is some pretty credible evidence that proves it. Below are just 10 of the many reasons why babies born in May are worth showering with love, attention, and emerald rings.

1. Lucky little ones

According to a UK Study, babies born in May are extra lucky. They are also known to be positive, energetic, and resilient. Good qualities to have!

2. Itty bitty babies

Some studies say that babies with the lowest birth weight and smallest heads are born in May. Although this isn’t necessarily a plus for them, it’s certainly a plus for your vagina!

3. Small but mighty and healthy

However, May babies are also known for their strength of mind, body and spirit. They experience the least amount of chronic diseases compared to babies born in other months. Research from the University of Columbia shows that people born in May have a lower risk for cardiovascular, neurological, respiratory, and reproductive diseases. Fewer trips to the doctor is always a plus for mum and bub.

4. Creative spirits

May babies tend to be very creative, dramatic, and musical. They are great at entertaining themselves and may excel at the arts – writing, dance, music.

5. Great pregnancy and birthday party weather

Not too hot, not too cold, and not riddled with big events (like Christmas), May is a great month to go through your final trimester of pregnancy and also celebrate birthdays in the years to come. With 10 people or less, of course.

6. Pretty birthstone

The birthstone is the pretty green emerald so, when hubby asks what present you want to commemorate your May baby’s birth, an emerald ring should do the trick.

7. Driven to succeed

Expect your May baby to be determined to crawl, walk, climb, and basically do ALL the things early. May babies are known for their motivation and desire to succeed. If she sees something she wants, she’s sure-as-hell gonna find a way to get it!

8. The most optimistic of all

March and April babies have scored high on a scale of hyperthymia (optimism) but May tops them all, according to a 2012 study of 58,000 people.

9. Great symbols

On the Zodiac front, May babies are either earthy Taurus, known for their determination and ambition or the Gemini, known for the creative and energetic spirit.

As mentioned above, May is associated with the emerald birthstone which represents good fortune and youth as well as Lily of the Valley which symbolises sweetness, humility, and happiness. Naw.

10. May baby names

So many cute ones! May, Maya, Mason, Mae, Lily (Lily of the Valley is May’s flower) Emmy or Emerson (for emerald) and Tauran (for Tauras), to name a few.

So, to all the mums expecting a baby this month, good luck and May the labour gods be with you!
