Here comes Peter Cottontail, right into your living room and ready for a bunny birthday tea party!

Sydney superstar mum, Priya Unnikrishnan celebrated her daughter Ameya’s third birthday with a basketful of bunnyrific goodness. The mini cakes and carrots (of course), the darling decorations, the pastel party treats – we love it all!

Time to par-tea!

Best of all, the clever mumma got most of the items from Kmart. So gather round and check out how she did it. #inspo

Like plenty of three-year-olds, Ameya adores Peter Rabbit.

“Since she loves watching Peter Rabbit, I thought of making Cottontail as the theme for the party,” Priya tells Mum Central. “I initially wanted to do it as a little tea party birthday at home with her friends. Unfortunately due to COVID, we decided to make it just a tea for two – Cottontail & herself.”

Priya does have bunny-themed activities and soft toys to hand out to the guests instead of lolly bags, but that part of the party will have to wait for another COVID-free time.

Priya managed to score most of her decorations at Kmart during their Easter sales, including:

  • The carrot bunting
  • Easter Basket and bunnies
  • Light up Bunny house
  • Bunny shaped plates
  • Carrot Jelly
  • Bunny 2 tier cupcake stand
  • Bunny Candy Jar
  • Wooden Cupcake Stand
  • Photo Frames

She also hacked an old Kmart Puppet Theatre and used it as a display stand. Clever mummy rabbit!

It’s not a Cottontail tea party without a selection of sweets! And boy, did Priya deliver the goodies! She made the cake herself (awesome work mumma!) and picked up a cake topper from Yellow Window Store.

She also made the fairy bread and Turmeric latte and headed to Woolworths for the cupcakes, mini meringues, cookies, donuts, lollies and macaroons.

“{Ameya} loved everything,” Priya tells us. “She kept hugging me and saying “Thank you so much mummy!”

What an adorable party idea made with lots of love and plenty of Kmart goodies – the perfect recipe for a perfect party!
