The sisterly bond is strong with this pair of albino sisters. With white hair, pale skin and matching smiles, Asel and Kamila Kalaganova from Kazakhstan are the picture of ethereal perfection, especially in a recent photo series posted on their Instagram page.

Not only do the two sisters share parents, a home and plenty of cuddles, but they also share a very rare condition – albinism.
The odds of being born with albinism – a condition which impacts pigmentation – is 1 in 3,000 to 1 in 20,000 (depending on which country you look at). So the fact that both these sisters have it is quite incredible.

The beautiful bond between a unique pair of sisters
Although albinism comes with a number of challenges, the girls are embracing their beauty and love to pose together for the camera. Asel, who started modelling at age 10, often shares the lens with Kamila and, well, their photos are stunning, to say the least!
What makes these pictures so powerful is the obvious bond between the girls. It’s quite clear that despite the 12 year age difference, they are tighter than a pair of tighty whiteys on Mark Wahlberg.
And just as pretty too!

The rare condition runs in the family
According to the girls’ mum, Aiman Sarkitov, albinism actually runs in the family. But she didn’t discover this until recently.
“At the very beginning, everyone was shocked, surprised. I did not know what to do myself, how to live,” Aimin told Bored Panda.
“People are surprised that we are albino,” said Asel. “Many people do not know what albinos are.”
After having Asel, Aiman fell pregnant with a little boy, who shares the same darker features as his mum and dad. Aiman then fell pregnant with her third baby, another little girl, who, to her mum’s shock, was also albino like her big sis.

Albino sisters wow the world
The unique condition results in very fair complexions so the girls must be careful when going outside. Albinism can also impact eyesight and both girls experience eye problems.
But this doesn’t stop the girls, especially Asel, who is not only a successful model but also holding her own in mainstream schooling. She is also moving forward in modelling and boasts an Instagram following of more than 40,000.

“She studies perfectly well,” her mum said. “At first, it was difficult, of course, the children stared at her. Now she feels good, we do not limit her to anything.”
“Albinos do not differ much from other children, only their hair, eyelashes, eyes, and skin colour.”
There’s certainly a lot of love, sweetness, and beauty between the pair! If only all sisters got along this well…
