At Mum Central we’re obsessed with all the hot homewares from Kmart. What’s better than overhauling the whole house with a trolley load of stuff that doesn’t break the bank?
Well good news fellow shopaholics the whole new range of homewares has just dropped with Kmart’s new Inspired Living range. We’ve scoured the catalogue, been in store and here’s the Mum Central round up of our most favourite pieces.

You may remember from Christmas we loved the gold cutlery and it’s bigger and better with a new dining story. The cutlery set is $19 for 16 pieces (steal) and the new brass-look trivet in gold (which is a fancy word for pot stand) is only $5. Grab a couple while they are still available. There’s also stacks of new plates and dishware including mat range in black, grey, white and mint to freshen up your table for change of season!
The other look we are really excited about in dining is the glazed pottery range that is bang on trend for what’s in all the most hip fine dining restaurants at the moment. Forget the mega price tag though these pieces start from just $3 but look like the expensive cousins you’ll see out on the town!

Our favourite new piece in lighting is the brass-look legged floor lamp at only $39. To further expand on the luxe look there’s also an occasional chair for only $49 and a glass topped console table for $45. Not only does this have a rich, modern look it’s huge value for money with three key pieces for under $150 combined!
We couldn’t close off lounge talk though without mentioning the $39 drinks trolley (um, yes please!), the two-tone rose gold mirror $12 and the black galah print at only $14 which is right-on for the avian trend thats everywhere right now.

We can’t go past the grey faux cowhide rug for $49. The three set of round mirrors are fresh and fun and would also be great for a feature in a bathroom or nursery. The adjustable metal wall shelf is ultra cool and practical. It would also be perfect for a home office, kids room or even organising your bits and pieces in a walk in wardrobe. We predict these will be a big hit!

There’s a decorative ladder I have wanted for ages from Kmart to put in the corner of my lounge room and make it my “Yoga corner” I would also get the matching coffee table, a basket for my yoga nat and props and some decorations for the ladder.
My son was born in July and sadly, I have not printed up any of his newborn photos to have them framed and added to our wall of family photos. This would be the first thing on my list. I’ve been eyeing off a couple of frames for a while. I’d then have to start looking at accessories for my daughter’s bedroom, which we plan to redo for her 3rd birthday

Don’t forget to mention in your article each Kmart store is different, each store has a different classification meaning they all don’t carry the same stock, also don’t forget alot of items are cheaper in Metro stores then rural/regional stores. Common Kmart practice, I would know worked there long enough.

I’d kit out my kitchen with some new cookware- all of my baking trays are rusting and the mother-in-law has told me several times that we should get rid of them but there are always other expenses that get in the way. I’d buy 2 of the white industrial stools for my kitchen bench, cross brass trivet, brass candle holders, brass napkin holder, 6 gold placemats, the brass tray and some Lego. I always have a kmart wishlist on the go!!
My bedroom needs an update! I’d get the metal walk shelf and the set of three round mirrors to use as a vanity area where I keep my jewelry and makeup (has to be up high so the kids don’t get to it!). Then I’d get the gorgeous ginkgo quilt cover! With any leftover money to spend, I love the mat tableware collection in mint! The carafe is gorgeous, and I could really use some new side plates as well!!!

The first things I’d buy are QUEEN SIZE SHEET SET that actually fits our tall mattress, and COT SHEET SET so we can move Miss 5 mth old to her own room. I’d also like posh chair covers for the dining room.

I was in kmart last week waiting for my partner to get there with our daughter, I was looking at items to buy for our newly painted kitchen (dark grey and white) . I seen the amazing black cockatoo pic with the dash of red in its tail and fell in love with it! I left it on the shelf and went back to the door of the store to wait for him so i could take him back to it and see what he thought, when he called to say our daughter was having another big nose bleed (happens alot) anyway needless to say I didnt get to show him cause we attended our daughters nose . I told him about it and he liked the sound of it , and I just showed him it now in your comp (image above) and he loves it too ! thats def what I would buy , and some new red items to match 🙂
