The most ‘elite’ baby names of 2021 have been revealed and we are more than surprised at the top contenders. Tilly, Lily, Dash, River and Zen are among the next-gen of cool kids.

The 12 coolest baby names of 2021

Dashiell – Unique and edgy and with a cool nickname to boot, we can see why Dash is on top of the list for little dudes.
Sophie – Considered one of the most popular baby names in the entire world, Sophie is elegant, beautiful, and elite, apparently.
Matilda – Tilly is currently the 12th most popular baby girl name in Australia. I wonder if she’ll make the top ten in 2021.
Ophelia – A little bit mythical, this name is climbing out of the ashes of Hamlet and becoming cool in her own right. Go girl!
Zen – Three letter baby names – so hot right now and Zen is as cool as they get.
River – River is considered elite for both boys and girls, according to the baby name experts.
Story – A cute literary name, we can already picture little Story as the future class leader.
James – A classic name for boys, James actually made the list for “cool girls’ names”, not boys.
Sam – Sam, however, is considered cool for the little men.
Charlotte – The number one baby name in Australia is not only popular but cool too.
Jack – It’s a classic and a cool one at that.
Lily – Flower power!

Good question. The figures come from Author Pamela Redmond Satran – who is the CEO of Nameberry.com.

The website is dedicated to ALL things baby names and track their top trends regularly. They get their data from thousands of new parents each year so they know their stuff!

Pamela shared with The Hollywood Reporter,

Elite parents in urban areas lean toward very fashion-forward and sophisticated names. They are attracted to quirky, not-so-easy-to-like names that are more difficult to embrace.”

Among the cool baby names are traditional monikers such as Charlotte, Sophie, Sam, James, and Jack as well as some nature-inspired names such as River and Lily.

However, Pamela adds that James and River are actually topping the girl’s list, not just the boys’.
