It’s the year of Robert and the young Aussie continues to make headlines. This time not for his love life or his commitment to wildlife, but for his next alleged career move… into the jungle!
Yep, Robert Irwin is allegedly joining Julia Morris and moving to the jungle as the new co-host of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here. Robert is said to be replacing the current co-host Dr Chris Brown. The 19-year-old zookeeper will in on the Network 10 reality TV series, according to TV Blackbox.
Robert’s new role
Robert will certainly bring the charm and charisma to the show and, let’s face it, he’s pretty good with creepy, crawly, jungly animals already. Although he’s fairly inexperienced when it comes to TV hosting, he’s well-versed in working the crowds and is a firm favourite in front of the cameras.
The wildlife warrior briefly filled in for Sam Mac as the Sunrise weatherman recently and he’s been on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on a few occasions.
Before the Robert bombshell, it was reported that Tony Armstrong, Peter Helliar or Joel Creasey would take over the role from Dr Chris. It’s still not 100% confirmed that Robert is the replacement, but it’s certainly looking that way!
When contacted by news.com.au, a Network 10 spokesman said:
“In true style for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, the guessing game of who is in the jungle is already afoot with speculation galore as to who will fill those very big shoes for Australia’s most sought-after hosting gig.
“But you know how this goes, just like the celebrities in the camp, we can neither confirm nor deny any rumours surrounding a new jungle host. For now, we’ll just have to keep you hanging until our intimate Upfront event reveals all…”
Robert’s had a pretty epic year already as he continues to grow his following and charm the world with his antics. He’s quite possibly the most doting uncle in the history of ever and he’s also proven to be excellent boyfriend material as his relationship with Rorie Buckey continues to unfold over Instagram.
I don’t know about you but I remember when little Bob was an adorable five-year-old with a mop of white blonde hair. My, how they grow!
