New Wiggles Coin Collection Coming to Woolworths plus Join Big W’s Virtual Birthday Bash

The kids are going to want to wiggle down to Woolworths next week when their latest collectables hit registers. But they aren’t bricks, plants or Olympic stickers.

This time the supermarket giant is digging deep into their cash registers with collectable colourful $2 coins, featuring none other than some of The Wiggles’ most popular band members.

From Wednesday, 6 October, Woolworths will launch their limited-edition Wiggles coin collection into registers. There will be one coin released each week for four weeks.

Lucky customers may receive one of these special coins with their change so you may want to bring cash for the next month.

I don’t know if you remember when The Royal Australian Mint and Woolies teamed up in 2017 to release the limited edition Possum Magic coins? Well, they were a HUGE HIT – my kids still have one or two of them floating around their piggy banks.

There have been a few other coin collection partnerships between Woolworths and the Royal Australian Mint, including the 2020 Tokyo and 2016 Rio Olympic and Paralympic coins, 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, Wallabies and Mr Squiggle.

The Wiggles characters … in coin form

Anyhoo, this new Woolworths coin collection is predicted to be even crazier because the four coins feature none other than every Australian’s favourite entertainers – The Wiggles.

The coins represent the iconic characters that have supported The Wiggles over the years – Captain Feathersword, Henry the Octopus, Wags the Dog and Dorothy the Dinosaur, helping all Aussies own a part of history.

The coin collection craze begins 6th October when you will also be able to score a coin collectors’ album for $15, in-store or online.

A Wiggly party too!

The exciting Wiggles coin collection isn’t the only thing swinging into the Woolworths Group. They’ve also got a massive party planned through their other big name store – Big W.

Like last year, Big W and The Wiggles are hosting a virtual birthday party for all kids who have missed out on celebrating their special birthdays with family and friends. #ThanksALotCovid.

Big W Virtual Birthday Party

The Biggest Wiggly Birthday party starts on Friday, 1 October 2021 at 9am (AEST) on BIG W’s Facebook Page.

In preparation for partying with The Wiggles, customers can visit BIG W’s Big Days at Home hub for downloadable activities such as creating your own party hat, making birthday cards and pinning the tail on Wags the Dog.

The Woolworths Wiggles coin collection and Big W birthday party are all part of the celebration of three decades of Wiggly fun. That’s right ladies and gents, the Wiggles have been serving up their fruit salad for 30 years! Crazy, right?

Blue Wiggle Anthony said,

We’re thrilled to have partnered with Woolworths and BIG W to celebrate three decades of children’s entertainment,

The Wiggles virtual concert and collector coins are a great opportunity for our fans to reminisce about their memories over the past 30 years, and make new memories with our new Wiggly family.

The band, the songs, and even the experiences have changed over the years, but our focus has always been the same – educating children through inspirational music and creativity.”
