It’s been quite the year of celebrity babies! Ed Sheeran, Rebel Wilson, and Scarlet Johanssen all added to their family, not to mention a few of the Kardashian women, two Jonas brothers, and Nick Cannon, who fathered five kids this year alone.
While some celebs opted for normal names for their little ones, many did not. Check out the celebrity baby names of 2022 that got the internet talking. Keep in mind a few celebs haven’t shared their baby names with the public yet – such as Kylie Jenner, Khloe Kardashian, Sophie Turner and Rhianna.
22 celebrity baby names that stole the spotlight
1. Legendary Love
We’re going to start the list with Nick Cannon. He welcomed five children in 2022, most with highly questionable names. Actually, most are adjectives, not names, including Legendary Love Cannon. Cannon shares Legendary with one of his many lady friends – Bree Tiesi.
2. Rise Messiah
Nick also opted for the name Rise Messiah for his other son born in 2022 which is about as extra as you can possibly get. The Messiah part is just the icing on the cake. Rise is Cannon’s third kid with another one of his girlfriends, Brittney Bell.
3. Beautiful Zeppelin
We’re still riding the Nick Cannon baby-making wagon here with Beautiful Zeppelin. Nick welcomed two daughters in 2022. Onyx and Beautiful Zepplin. Onyx is actually not that odd and is rising in popularity but it’s Beautiful Zeppelin that made us all stop and shake our heads.

4. Malibu Barbie
YouTuber Trisha Paytas caused some serious confusion when she named her daughter Malibu Barbie, pairing the unique moniker with a Barbie-inspired nursery. You can check out the pink palace here.
5. Royce Lillian
Rebel Wilson welcomed her first bub via surrogate in 2022 and opted for a unique R name to matchy-matchy with her name, Rebel and her partner’s name, Ramona. R&R&R.
6. Malti
Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra also became parents for the first time in 2022, welcoming their baby girl, Malti. Malti is a Hindi word that means “tiny fragrant flower” or “moonlight”.
7. Wilde Wolf
When it comes to wild celebrity baby names, Eve wins! She and her husband Maximillian Cooper welcomed their first child together – Wilde Wolf. His full name is Wilde Wolf Fife Alexander Somers Cooper. Maximillian also has four other children – Lotus, Jagger, Cash, and Mini.
8. Leni
Personal trainer extraordinaire Joe Wicks welcomed his third child this year – a little girl named Leni which means “light”. This is one of our names to watch for 2023.
9. Rome
Shay Mitchell added another girl to her growing family – Rome, who joins big sister Atlas. Very geographical!
10. Bluesy Belle
Another Glee alum also made the list this year – Darren Criss and his wife Mia Sweir opted for the very musical name Bluesy Belle for their daughter.
11. Bronze
NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany stole the spotlight at the end of 2022 by nicknaming their son Bronze. His full name is Patrick Bronze Lavon, but they will call him Bronze in order to match his big sister, Sterling. The couple also has two dogs named Silver and Steel. Not making this up.
12. Wave Set Cephus
We predicted ocean baby names would catch on this year and boy did it ever with Cardi and Offset. Cephus means “stone” FYI. Wave was actually born in 2021 but we didn’t get to learn his name until 2022.
13. Ryden Caspian
Breaking Bad star, Aaron Paul and his wife Lauren Parsekian added to their bunch with a little boy they named Ryden Caspian. Ryden’s big sister is named Story Annabelle.
14. Exa Dark Siderael
Elon Musk and Grime secretly welcomed another baby via surrogate. They named her Exa Dark Siderael Musk, to go with their son’s name of X Æ A-12. Apparently, Grimes calls her daughter Y.
15. Willie Jacquet
Singer Michelle Branch and husband Patrick Carney welcomed a baby girl named Willie Jacquet Carney. I’ve never heard of a little girl named Willie before, but it’s actually kind of cute.
16. Cy
Jennifer Lawrence took her sweet time sharing her son’s name. She and her husband Cooke Maroney, opted for something super short and sweet – Cy, which means “sun”.
17. Cielo
Michael Bublé and his wife, Luisana Lopilato also welcomed another baby to their tribe. They already have three kids – Noah, Elias and Vida. Baby Cielo Yoli Rose makes four. Cielo makes ‘sky’.
18. Ahi
Former AFLW athlete and Survivor star Moana Hope and her wife Isabella Carlstrom welcomed a son in June 2022. They named him Ahi Joseph Carlstrom and he joins his big sister, Svea. The unique name Ahi comes with a few different meanings – “Fawn, Serpent; Cloud, Water, Sun; or Heaven and Earth Conjoined”.
19. Posy
Tammy Hembrow’s little girl has been in the spotlight a lot already thanks to her very unique condition called polydactyly. Tammy opted for the name Posy, who joins Tammy’s two other children, Wolf and Saskia.
20. Shackelton Stoker
Singer Joss Stone went for the incredibly unique option of Shackelton for her second child. She and her partner, Cody DaLuz call him “Shack” for short.
21. Bastain Bear Black
Laurina Fleure, who starred in Blake Garvey’s season of The Bachelor in 2014 and will always be remembered for the ‘dirty street pie’ moment, has welcomed a baby boy. She went with the alliterative Bastain Bear Black.
22. Aspyn Elle
We’ll end our 2022 celebrity baby name round-up with Paramatta Eels’ player, Mitchell Moses, who chose the unusual Aspyn Elle for his daughter. Very cute!
